Security & Media
Following attacks in the United States in September 2001 and an increase global threat of terrorism, the International Maritime Organisation introduced the ISPS Code aimed at maintaining security of ships and ports, which became mandatory on 1st July 2004 for all commercial vessels over 500 gross tonnes.
In order for a vessel to be compliant, it will need to have an approved security plan which contains variable measures to be implemented for security levels set by flag and port state administrations. Watkins Superyachts’ aim is to achieve compliance whilst minimising expense and disruption to the yacht. Watkins Superyachts is able to provide full ISPS compliance as a part of full management or as a standalone package with or without ISM, either singly or using industry partners and can provide asset and personal security if required.
The company is also able to carry out security risk assessment and provide asset, personnel and close personal security according to the clients’ needs.
Media Response
Preserving clients’ media profile is a contributory factor in security, confidentiality and liability exposure. The Company is able to work with existing media managers or can provide an in-house media response facility for and on behalf of clients if required.
