HARRODS & WATKINS CREATE WORLD’S FIRST IN-STORE SUPERYACHT OUTLET
Thursday, May 12th, 2011Harrods, the world famous luxury store has teamed up with specialist London brokers Watkins Superyachts to offer their most expensive product ever – a £100-plus million motor yacht.
During the month of May three remarkable window displays – designed and created by Harrods – will feature models, images and details of a unique and exclusive range of yachts. There will also be specialist in store representation throughout the month, together with tailored direct marketing to the Harrods customer database.
Watkins Superyachts – based in the City of London’s iconic Gherkin building – is a specialist international brokerage and management company offering a comprehensive service from selection, finance, purchase, management and chartering of superyachts.
Yachts offered for sale will range from the €7.5 million Ron Holland designed Kestrel 106 – dubbed the ‘Both Worlds’ Superyacht for its unique combination of comfort and sailing performance – to the 90 metre Fincantieri fully-engineered build project, MARS, priced in excess of £100m.
Models on display include the revolutionary semi-displacement 65 metre Heesen with interior design by Bannenberg and Rowell, and Mogambo – a 75 metre luxury cruiser ready for delivery in March 2012, exclusively on display at Harrods.

WATKINS SUPERYACHTS TO SELL UNIQUE, NEW ‘BOTH WORLDS’ KETCH, KESTREL.
Thursday, April 21st, 2011London-based yacht manager and broker Watkins Superyachts Ltd is pleased to announce its appointment as central agent for the 32.4-metre Ron Holland-designed ketch, Kestrel 106, now nearing completion at the long established world class Aganlar Boatyard at Bodrum, Turkey.
The vision of the project is to provide discerning and aspiring sailors with a delightful fast-cruising yacht ideal for comfortable entertaining and quality leisure time afloat, but uniquely in conjunction with the renowned sailing capabilities of Ron Holland’s sailing boats. Commenting on the project, Managing Director of Kestrel Superyachts, Peter Cooke, says the aim was to design and create a beautiful, traditional yacht with the space to accommodate eight to ten family or friends in style, comfort and stability, mixed with fast-cruising capability and charm. Flexible spaces for entertaining are a particular attraction. Adopting the strap line of the Jaguar saloon cars of the 1950s – Space, Pace and Grace – every aspect of Kestrel exhibits these defining qualities.

Delivered in 2006 the yacht was built in Germany by Nobiskrug and has been acclaimed for her impressive engineering. The yacht changed hands early in her life and the current Owner has made very significant upgrades to her over time – not least to the AV system which was made ‘state of the art’ by BOND and features a 108 inch plasma screen for a complete movie experience. The yacht is currently in the Med and can be sold with a Mediterranean berth.

This means that transfers to yachts can begin at the owner, charterer or guest’s front door and form a seamless itinerary incorporating limousines, flights and helicopter transfers supported by highly experienced staff. The cruise can now begin at home.
Together Air Harrods and Watkins Yacht Management can ensure that any superyacht voyage begins and ends perfectly with service and style. Air Harrods operates under Air Operators Certificate (AOC) 2047 which is a requirement of the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for operators of public transport (charter) flights. This means the CAA have certified Air Harrods as ‘competent to secure the safe operation of aircraft’.
